[Dammit. There is an audible sigh, but in the end he gathers his things and heads out the door. Here they gooooo...]

Auh.... ...Good morning, Yuuya...

Good morning, Gongenzaka. [Yuya moves to step beside Gongenzaka as he finally exits, stuffing his hands in his pockets.] Did you stay in your room the rest of the night?

[betheman]

Auh, good morning... [It is extremely hard to hide the lingering upset from the night before. But....

Yeah, I guess that took a long time... [And only got more dramatic following it.

Yuya leans over a little, letting his arm press against Gon's as he looks up and offers him a smile.]

..As well, I, the man Gongenzaka, felt it would be best to remain in my room, in case Maya awoke... [Nightmares, tea....that sort of thing...]

...Do you have a class soon, yourself?

I've got time. You have to have breakfast before learning anything! [It's true, but is he applying it for the right reasons...] We can go eat together, right?

[betheman]

Auh... [He rubs the back of his head, and nods.] ...Mnh, of course, then! Let us hurry however, so that we are not late, [He adds a little more seriously.]

We're not going to be late. [They don't have to run, Yuya doesn't know where he gets this morning injury.] What are you going to eat? I hope they have pancakes today.

[Yuya always hopes they have pancakes.]

Gongenzaka snorts.] They more often than not do have pancakes, do they not? It is a buffet after all. [The upsides of a cafeteria in a rich environment, apparently.]

[He stuffs his hands in his pockets, letting the silence sit on that for a moment before he looks up at Gongenzaka.] And you know, whatever happened with Toki isn't anything to do with you.

That is because you are late..! [He begins, only to choke on his words.

And immediately, he quiets, and turns his head.] ...I, the man Gongenzaka, suspect it has very much to do with me, Yuuya, [He murmurs, referring of course to the lycanthropy.] ...It is bad enough, that our initial meeting went so poorly...but to have caused this, as well..!?

But... you didn't, not really. [Yuya grabs Gon's arm firmly, forcing attention to his presence.] If it were anyone else who's a lycan, it would have gone the same way. You aren't the one that did that to him, and you work every day so you never will.

[Gongenzaka...does not have a lot to say to that. He's still walking, albeit at a slower pace- but he doesn't have a lot to say.]

Somehow, given how he left the tour, it feels all the worse anyway, Yuuya.

[So. Turns out the guy he was talking about EARLIER is your roommate, Yuuya. Great.]

[Ah... well.]

That doesn't change my point. [Yuya squeezes just a little, briefly.] You're way too hard on yourself, when you're doing twice--no, ten times as much as anyone else!

[betheman]

[AAaaAAAaaaaa Yuuya, you know he can't argue with him long about these things..!!

...So instead he's left rubbing the back of his head, looking away.] Mnh...Even...even still...

[Nope, no 'buts' (or 'even's), mister.]

Not 'even still'. You try and hold yourself to something impossible and then you'll never reach it, you know?

[He understands Gon's feelings enough to give him a pass, usually.. but blaming himself for trauma Toki has from before they even met is a bit much.]

I'm happy having you here just the way you are, too.

[He is quiet. Very quiet.

Mostly because he knows Yuuya is right but is in that awkward sort of position where even he can't bring himself to say 'yeahhhhh'.

So instead his brows just sort of furrow and un-furrow like he wants to say something, but has no idea what. Eventually he just says...]

...I... ...am glad for that. ..That you are happy with how I am.

[...That means a lot to him, after all. Especially now.]

[hippocarnival]

[It's not getting through, is it. Yuya's shoulders sink and his gaze drifts down to the ground.] You're my best friend, after all.

[And despite what happened. He knows how much good there is in Gongenzaka past his condition.]

[It never seems to, not really. Or at least it doesn't seem to sink in the way Yuuya would want it to, the way anyone would want it to. And never right away- Gongenzaka stops walking for a moment to look at his friend, eyes watering just a touch.] I...

...Naturally, you are my best friend too, you know..! ...I...

[....] ...I, the man Gongenzaka, am...trying. ...To believe your words as more than just your words...this, I swear.

Right. [Yuya pulls up a smile, looking at Gongenzaka briefly before fixing his attention back ahead. He always wishes he could do more to help Gongenzaka, to get through to him, but... it always comes back around to this. He's just not quite enough.

It makes it chest tight, but Yuya's good at not letting that escape onto his face by now. He doesn't want to add to Gon's guilt any more than he already has.] So what are you going to eat?

[betheman]

Mnh? For breakfast? [He asks, only somewhat pulling back from the gloomy mood he's sunk farther back into. Food is a good way to get him back to spirits in the morning however- a rush of energy is just what he needs to get away from it all, so...]

...Some breakfast sausage, I think.
